  • About the Artists

Our vibrant and dynamic artists are from the Utopia region; a large remote area of Central Australia which, until recently, had no government funded art centre. As a result of their pioneering efforts, they have one of the strongest and richest art histories.

  • Bush Melon by Minnie Pwerle (SOLD)

    30cm x 15cm

The small circular designs in this painting represent anemangkerr, a small globular fruit similar to ‘a little melon’. This fruit is high in Vitamin C, and is favoured for its exceptional keeping qualities. The ancestral Dreamtime stories associated with the anemangkerr belong to Atnwengerrp Country. This ancient red country lies in the heartland of Alyawarr land, northeast of Alice Springs, in Central Australia.
