    Susan ist die jüngere Schwester von Annie Pitjara Hunter, Jessie Pitjara Hunter und Sandy Pitjara Hunter. Sie lebt in Utopia in der östlichen Wüste und lebt ein traditionelles Leben, indem sie ihre ganze Zeit im Busch verbringt.

    Susan hatte schon immer ein tiefes Gefühl der Zugehörigkeit zu ihrem Land und ihre Bilder werden mit äußerster Sorgfalt und Respekt für ihr Thema gemalt. Das Endergebnis ist eine Vielzahl komplizierter Muster, die ihr Land symbolisieren.

    Susans Arbeit umfasst alle Aspekte ihres Landes Arawerr und auch Irrwelty – das Land ihrer Mutter. In ihren Gemälden stellt Susan häufig zeremonielle Orte oder Traumorte für Frauen dar, an denen sich Frauen versammeln, sowie zeremonielle Körperbemalungsentwürfe.

    Die Frauen sitzen und singen die Liedzeilen, die ihnen von ihren Vorfahren überliefert wurden. Bei diesen zeremoniellen Treffen geben die Frauen ihre Träume an die Jüngeren weiter.
