Roese malt seit Ende der 1990er Jahre. Ihre Stile reichten von feinen Punktdarstellungen der Bush-Türkei-Geschichte über kühne Abdrücke zeremonieller Körperbemalungen von Frauen bis hin zu kreisförmigen Motiven, die Durchnässen im Stil ihrer Schwester, der verstorbenen Lena Pwerle, darstellen. Lena war dafür bekannt, Kwaty Ngenty (Einweichungen) zu malen, die in ihren Heimatländern gefunden wurden.
Roese arbeitete Ende der 1980er Jahre zunächst zusammen mit über achtzig anderen Frauen aus der Utopia-Region in Zentralaustralien im Medium Batik. Ihre Arbeit in diesem Medium tourte durch Australien und wird in der Publikation „Utopia – A Picture Story, the Robert Holmes á Court Collection“ vorgestellt.
