Janet began painting in the late 1980's, learning her skills from family members and taking on the subject matter that was familiar to the female artists in her family group. These include the Awelye (women’s ceremony), the Bush Yam Story pencil yam seed which traces the growth and journey of the pencil yam seed and other blessings of the country.
