“The Dreamtime is the mythological representation of what Aboriginal people carry in their minds. The source of life! This knowledge has not just been planted in their minds, it is taught and structured through initiation and ceremony.” - A.P. Elkin, Professor of Anthropology, 1920’s-1930’s

This painting depicts elements associated with the Ahakeye (Bush Plum) story, a very important story for Lindsay that belongs to his country, Ilkawerne, and also the Little Wallaby story.
Concentric circles represent the site of the bush plum trees. Parallel lines represent song lines or travelling lines of the Ilkawerne people associated with this story. '7' shaped symbols represent the tracks of a little wallaby and white dots represent the flower of the bush plum.
