Katie Kemarre was involved with the Summer Project in the early 1990's which introduced many Utopian’s into the art of painting. Katie’s artwork evolves continually which reflects the nature of her personality and community. Katie occasionally makes wood carvings, such as bowls, for her community.
An important Dreaming story for Katie often depicted in her artwork is the Ngkweyang (Kurrajong Seed).
The Kurrajong tree produce medicinal leaves, beautiful flowers, seed pods used for jewellery and nutritious seeds that were used for making flour.
