The designs in this painting are inspired by Dora's mother's country, Atnwengerrp. Her mother, Minnie Pwerle, was an acclaimed artist during the turn of the century who was known for painting these designs. Linear designs represent awelye (women’s ceremonial body paint designs) for Atnwengerrp country.
