Josie's painting represents the Bush Plum Dreaming. Though Josiecalls these little berries ‘bush plum’ in English, it is called Angkwerrpme in Josie 'slanguage, also known as the Bush Mistletoe.
There are many different types of angkwerrpme in Central Australia, where all but one or two produce edible berries. Josiepaints one that has sweet edible berries that can be found in shades of yellow, red, orange and purple (or black) in their different stages of maturity. Josiesays they can be found growing on the Witchetty Bush (Acacia kempeana). Dot work symbolises the angkwerrpme and the colours Josie uses signify these various ripening stages.
