Die linearen Muster in diesem Gemälde stellen Awelye (Frauenzeremonie und Körperbemalung) für Kame (Bleistift-Yamswurzel-Samen) dar. Abwechselnd werden Frauen geschminkt, während sie Lieder singen, die mit ihrem Awelye in Zusammenhang stehen.

Punkte in diesem Gemälde symbolisieren den Yamswurzelsamen.

In der Traumzeit besteht die Bleistift-Yam-Geschichte aus zwei Teilen. Es wurden zwei verschiedene Samen geboren, die zwei verschiedene Arten von Yamswurzeln hervorbrachten; einer heißt Atnwelarr und gehört zu den Ländern Alhalkere und Atnangkere, der andere heißt Arlatyeye und gehört zum Land Arnumarra.

Das Land von Fredas Mutter ist Alhakere, und das ist der Teil, den Freda malt.
