In this painting, Colleen Wallace Nungari illustrates Dreamtime Sisters who are good spirits dancing the awelye (women’s ceremony) and looking after her country, Arnumarra, which lies to the north east of Alice Springs in Central Australia. Colleen says these sisters were once living people; her ancestors.
