About the Artists
Our vibrant and dynamic artists are from the Utopia region; a large remote area of Central Australia which, until recently, had no government funded art centre. As a result of their pioneering efforts, they have one of the strongest and richest art histories.
Betty Mbitjana update
Betty Mbitjana is no longer painting due to health issues and she has taken up full time residence at an aged care / respite clinic in Alice Springs. Her artwork followed in the footsteps of her mother, Minnie Pwerle, and now her sister, Dora Mpetyane, has received family permission to continue painting this style. While we will miss Betty's impression of 'My Mother's Country', and send our love to Betty, we look forward to be able to share Dora's works with you soon.
