Our vibrant and dynamic artists are from the Utopia region; a large remote area of Central Australia which, until recently, had no government funded art centre. As a result of their pioneering efforts, they have one of the strongest and richest art histories.
Naomi Pwerle ist fast 40 Jahre alt Anna Price Petyarres älteste Tochter. Schon in jungen Jahren beobachtete sie, wie ihre Mutter und andere Frauen ihrer Gemeinde ihre Traumgeschichten malten. In dieser Zeit spielte Punktarbeit in der Utopia-Kunst eine große Rolle.
In diesem Gemälde stellt Naomi einen der gefragtesten Stile ihrer Mutter aus den späten 90er Jahren wieder her; abgeleitet von einer Vision der Bleistift-Yamswurzel Wurzelsystem unter der Erde und sein Samen.
Der Samen der Bleistift-Yamswurzel ist eines ihrer wichtigsten Attribute, das Naomi mit Punktarbeit veranschaulicht. Dieser Samen heißt Kame, vor allem als Buschname bekannt Emily Kame Kingwarreye .
