Emily begann etwa 2001 mit dem Malen auf Leinwand. Das Thema ihrer Bilder bezieht sich normalerweise auf Frauenzeremonien, die mit ihrem Land, Atnwengerrp/Irrwelty, verbunden sind. Ihr Stil zeigt oft starke, kühne lineare Arbeiten mit einem Hintergrund aus sehr feinen Punkten, die das Land oder manchmal Ntang – Samen und Zuckertüte – einheimischen Honig und andere Geschichten aus Emilys Land widerspiegeln.
Ihre Arbeiten wurden in zahlreichen Gruppenausstellungen mit den Werken ihrer Schwestern Minnie Pwerle , Galya Pwerle und Molly Pwerle gezeigt.
