    Annie Hunter ist für die feine Umsetzung weiblicher Zeremonienmotive in ihren Gemälden bekannt. Ihre Werke werden seit Beginn der Utopia-Kunstbewegung gesammelt, als Batik 1977 erstmals den Frauen vorgestellt wurde. Ihre Arbeiten in diesem Medium wurden ausgewählt Utopie – Eine Bildergeschichte eine Ausstellung, die zahlreiche nationale und internationale Tourneen durchführte.

    In den späten 1980er Jahren wurden Annies erste Gemälde in der bedeutenden Ausstellung und anschließenden Veröffentlichung Utopia Women's Paintings, the First Works on Canvas, A Summer Project (1988-89) gezeigt.

    Obwohl Annie keine besonders produktive Künstlerin ist, werden ihre Werke weiterhin landesweit in Gruppenausstellungen ausgestellt.
