The plants depicted in Sandra's painting are found in the country around Ampilatwatja, north of Utopia in Central Australia, and are used for soothing skin infections by way of an ointment, or mixed with water to make a drink to help with coughs and colds. Bush medicine is widely used here and the knowledge continues to be passed down to younger generations.
