Die Punkte sind Matisse Antique White (im Bild), ein cremiger, cremefarbener Farbton, gemalt auf einem weißen Hintergrund.
Das verwendete Schwarz ist Carbon Black. Es ist eines der ältesten Pigmente, die die Menschheit kennt. In diesem Gemälde ist es ein neutrales Mattschwarz, aber wenn es mit Weiß gemischt wird, entsteht Grau mit einem kühlen, bläulichen Unterton.
