About the Artists
Our vibrant and dynamic artists are from the Utopia region; a large remote area of Central Australia which, until recently, had no government funded art centre. As a result of their pioneering efforts, they have one of the strongest and richest art histories.

This painting depicts the Harts Range Races in Central Australia; horse races which first began in 1946. Located a couple of hours drive north east of Alice Springs, the annual Harts Range Races has become one of Australia’s top remote bush sports weekends, drawing crowds of up to 1,000 people to the small community. Dinny and his family enjoy visiting horse racing events, in particularly the Harts Range Races.
Dinny’s desire is to share his passions of contemporary Aboriginal life in remote Central Australia through his artwork. If not painting or creating award winning scuptures, he says he can be found supporting many remote sporting events or playing his guitar or keyboard in his small community church band whilst his wife Josie sings, performing spiritual gospel music.
