  • About the Artists

Our vibrant and dynamic artists are from the Utopia region; a large remote area of Central Australia which, until recently, had no government funded art centre. As a result of their pioneering efforts, they have one of the strongest and richest art histories.

Bush Turkey Story by Cowboy Loy (SOLD)

    30cm x 30cm

Cowboy's painting is of the Bush Turkey Story. In this story, the turkey goes out to collect tucker (food) during the day and comes back to his camp by a creek.

The concentric circles in the centre represent the turkey's home by the creek. Strong diagonals are the journey it takes during the day to collect food; normally seeds and small fruits.

Semi circle patterns are symbolic of the tall grassy areas, and dots represent the food.
