  • About the Artists

Our vibrant and dynamic artists are from the Utopia region; a large remote area of Central Australia which, until recently, had no government funded art centre. As a result of their pioneering efforts, they have one of the strongest and richest art histories.

The circular designs in this painting illustrate Anemangkerr, a small globular melon-like fruit. This fruit is high in Vitamin C and is favoured for its exceptional keeping qualities. The ancestral dreamtime stories associated with the Anemangkerr belong to Molly's country, Atnwengerrp.  This ancient red country lies in the heartland of Alyawarr land, northeast of Alice Springs, in Central Australia.
